RESONANCES III
POEMES D'ORIENT
4tet RESONANCES I
Zahr trio +1 is a group made up of three exceptional musicians: Julien Monti (multiflutes), Khaled Arman (rubab, del ruba) and Olivier Nussbaum (double bass). Julien Monti and Olivier Nussbaum have shared the European musical and artistic scene for some twenty years, and have more than a dozen joint creations to their credit! Together they experiment with different directions in composition and improvisation, happily and enthusiastically exploring the infinite horizons of creativity.
They are interested in transdisciplinarity between different media (music, theater, dance, photography, video, painting, sculpture, literature, etc.), always with the same desire to highlight expressive meaning in a chosen aesthetic.
The meeting between Khaled Arman (Afghanistan) and Julien Monti took place during a creation by the Compagnie d'Eustache (Sens Orient) and its Grand Orchestre. Khaled Arman was the special guest and Julien Monti composed two orchestral pieces inspired by North African music. It seemed obvious to Julien Monti to bring together these two talented musicians to compose this unique group. The three artists' shared taste for oriental and Arabo-Andalusian music unites them, but in no way confines them. Indeed, they wish to go beyond stylistic connotations and explore together new musical horizons with unexpected colors, where the crossbreeding of cultures will be at the rendezvous !
For this first 2013 tour under the name "Résonances", Julien, Khaled and Olivier open their trio to a special guest, Swiss drummer Vincent Boillat Boillat rounds out the Zhrr trio with the timbre of his instrument and the richness of his musical personality !
