RESONANCES III
POEMES D'ORIENT
Matthias Yannis Babey
Sound technician for ZZHR
Independent and curious by nature, he developed a particular interest in music from an early age. He began learning classical guitar at the Conservatoire de Musique Neuchâteloise in Denis Battais's class. At the same time, he followed a double jazz curriculum for four years. After completing his compulsory schooling, he obtained a CFC in carpentry. Still driven by the disciplines of the stage, he undertook studies as a Techniscéniste at the Manufacture in Lausanne and completed his three-year apprenticeship at the Théâtre du passage in Neuchâtel. In 2018 he created a solo project and released an EP "from my heart" featuring four of his compositions. Fascinated by the sounds and vibrations of his instrument, he plays in various projects as a guitarist and singer; Möle a band duo with drummer Alain Villars. Between them, they create a kind of post-hardcore sludge, a steamroller of big sounds that goes right through the body and guts. Kapha, a Chaux-de-Fonds-based French variety project with pop/rock influences and vivid colors, questioning the place of the living. His first steps in the technical field date back to the "Hors tribu festival and the Théâtre des mascarons" over 10 years ago. His widely appreciated skills led him to become technical director of various companies and festivals, while in 2020 he created Babey Tech, a small structure specializing in show technology. Matthias Babey is a person who loves life and people, and is interested in a wide variety of things. He's very dynamic, and there aren't enough hours in the day to do everything he wants to do.
