Claude Thébert
Actor
Born in 1947, Claude Thébert trained as an actor at the Grotowsky School. He became a permanent actor with the Théâtre Populaire Romand in the 1970s. Until 1985, he took part in over 40 shows in Switzerland, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Tunisia and Mexico, performing in both classic and contemporary plays. He moved to Geneva in 1985 and worked as a freelance actor, performing in Switzerland, France and Belgium with a number of directors: Jean Liermier, Claude Stratz, Jean-Louis Hourdin, Philippe Sireuil, Denis Guénoun, Philippe Morand, J. Voeffray et A. Vouilloz, Michèle Fouchey, Jean-Louis Hourdin. Vouilloz, Michèle Fouchet, Michel Voïta... He founded the Théâtre du Sentier with Anne-Marie Delbart and Gilles Lambert in 1993. He has created several shows by Robert Walser, Emmanuel Bove, Heinrich von Kleist, Hugo Loetscher, S. Corinna Bille, Georges Haldas, Jacques Probst, Jean-Marie Piemme, Thomas Hürlimann Amélie Plume, Christophe Gallaz, Antoine Jaccoud, Anne-Lou Steininger. More recently, Je ne sais pas où je vais, mais j'y vais, j'y vais..., Hommage à Omar Khayyam, La Vie errante de Yves Bonnefoy, le Bal à la sauvette, La Valise rouge, and Perdre le nord in 2016. Since 1998, he has been giving public readings in the street, cafés, bookshops, libraries, art galleries, museums, schools, theaters, cellars, parks and more.
